In the spring of 2001 my dear friend Marianne found out that she had a high risk pregnancy. Although the doctors did not give her a favorable outcome she decided to follow her intuition and heart and carry the child.  She asked if I would come and be with her on this most miraculous journey.  At this time, I started the first part of this painting. In some of my dreams I felt like I was traveling in some kind of vehicle.  I would arrive back in my bed with my arms and legs stretched out.  The landing would be a little bumpy, sort of like the sensation you get when an airplane lands.I drew the star like shape, which I now know is called a Merkabah.  Although I painted this on a square I would always place the painting on an angle or diamond shape.   After the miracle birth of Connor John, who was delivered in record time, with a golden halo of hair and in perfect baby form, I left Toronto and the painting Merkabah II which was propped up on an easel which again created the diamond shape. I returned the following summer to Toronto and when I looked at the painting I realized that I had more work to do.   So dots, pattern and other textures were added.   Surely I was finished. So I signed my symbol and brought it back to Florida. It hung in my studio for the next several months, until I finished a painting called “The Bridge.” The Bridge lead me to create another type of form or 3 dimensional artwork. I painted another canvas to mount the Merkabah II upon, which looked like an opening or a portal in space.  Hence, the painting was called Portal-Merkabah II Light Source.   I then hung the painting in the home of my friend Janet.  She started to have dreams of time travel.  We were discussing her dreams one day and she remarked that the portal was the exact color of a peacock feather. When Melanie came to visit my studio, she first saw a print of the painting and asked if I still had the original painting.   When I said “yes” and pointed to the painting now hanging on my wall, I noticed an unusual burst of light on the painting.  Melanie immediately connected to the energy of this painting and for some time she stood there with a fixed gaze.   When I realized she had been drawn through the energies of this "Portal", I knew she was the one.  This painting was for her.   I related the story about the time travel and the peacock feather and Melanie told me that the peacock was her totem.  When Melanie returned to purchase the painting I remarked about the unusual light on the painting, which occurred during her previous visit.  Melanie had seen the light as well!   Perhaps that is why, I inadvertently added “Light Source” to the title of the painting.  For those who venture to take this journey with the "Light Source" through the "Portal" magnificent healing awaits. Paintings of sacred geometry awaken us; we simply have to open our eyes, minds and hearts. Portal-Merkabah II Light Source now hangs in
